It’s now official. New Jersey voters will decide this November if casino expansion will spread beyond the borders of Atlantic City. The constitutional amendment was passed by both the N.J. Assembly and Senate on Monday by the required three-fifths majorities needed to place it on the November ballot. The conditions for expansion call for two casinos to be built in North Jersey, 72 miles away from Atlantic City and in two separate counties. Still to be decided are the revenue tax rate for the new casinos and how the money will be distributed throughout the state.
